Former Green Party leader and Minister of State Trevor Sargent was ordained in Christ Church Cathedral, Waterford on Saturday last beforea large congregation of family, friends and Green Party colleagues.

Following ordination he travelled to Tramore where he was also received by a large congregation. He was accompanied by his wife Aine Neville.

The ceremony was conducted by the Bishop of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory, Rev Michael Burrows, assisted by many clergy from across the country including the Registrar Canon Ruth Elmes and the Dean of Christ Church, Maria Jannsen.

Among the attendance was his wife Aine Neville, parents Mildred and Harry; brother Derek, as well as friends such as current Green Party Leader Eamon Ryan, and former TD
