The Excellence in Local Government Awards are held annually in conjunction with Chambers Ireland and the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. Mayor Kelly said 'its very gratifying that Waterford City & County Council has been nominated for an award this year and hopefully we will win it. All our staff and councillors work hard to serve the people of Waterford'. The Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards which are supported by the Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government, gives local authorities the opportunity to showcase very innovative work they do in making our communities better places in which to live and work in. Mayor Kelly concluded 'Waterford City & County Council has been nominated in the Supporting Tourism section for the King of the Vikings the World's First Viking Virtual Reality Adventure. This is a fantastic interactive experience and I would encourage all in Waterford to go visit the King of the Vikings show'.
