The 2018 Annual Mayor’s Ball was a huge success with almost €36,000 fundraised.

There were almost 300 people in attendance at Saturday’s glamorous event and the representatives of Assisi House, WASSA and Sesame Early Intervention Service have expressed their gratitude to Cllr Pat Nugent, Mayor of the City and County of Waterford for the much needed boost to their organisations. Representatives of the organisations spoke passionately about the work their charities carried out and the importance the financial contribution from the event would make to their members.

The packed Tower Hotel patrons were told that over €1m. has been raised to date since the Ball was first initiated in 2002.

Cllr. Pat Nugent , Mayor of Waterford City and County remarked "The generosity of more than 250 local businesses to the Mayors Ball is again phenomenal, and I am delighted to be involved with the great success that was enjoyed at the 2018 Mayors’ Gala Ball. Many thanks are due to the organising committee chaired by Regina Mangan, Liberty Blue who also conducted the auction after the meal and assisted by Cllr Cha O’Neill and Mandy Nolan Reade of Waterford City and County Council.

The main sponsors of the event for 2018 were Nypro, Nearform and Neville Hotels while the drinks reception was sponsored by the Heineken group and water supplied by the Queally group. All of the printed material was sponsored by Stephen Walshe.

Cllr Seán Reinhardt, Mayor of the Metropolitan District of Waterford said "Many thanks are due to the sponsors, the organising committee and ultimately the 300 people who attended Saturday event. The Mayors Gala Ball is an institution on the Waterford event calendar".
