Children’s Group Link, a leading Waterford based children’s charity in the southeast, is staging a major fundraising event on The Prom in Tramore, Co. Waterford from July 7th- 9th. The event, as its showcase, is trying to raise enough one euro coins from the public to connect one end of the Prom to the other.

In all, some 16,000 coins will be needed to stretch the length of the Prom which is approximately 400 metres.

Children’s Group Link provides a wide variety of programmes, personal supports and training to “at-risk” youth in Waterford City and County.

As part of the next phase of our development, we are looking to secure a dedicated premises to offer additional training, educational opportunities and employment supports to our young people and we are asking for the public’s support.

Throughout the weekend, there will be music, photo booths, giant sandwich boards, comic fortune teller, Disney & super hero characters in costume and an information stand. A feature of the event will be a specially constructed robot called Glink and a pre-trained flash mob performing at various times each day. Over 40 volunteers will be involved.

The event is proudly supported by Dooly’s Fish & Chips and the Majestic Hotel.
