All Ireland Juvenile Indoors this week end.

The first two days of the Irish Life Health All Ireland Juvenile Indoor Track and Field Championships are in Athlone on Saturday and Sunday next and many athletes from Waterford clubs will be among the competitors. The age groups are under 12 to under 19 boys and girls.Competition begins on Saturday at 10.30 am but athletes check in from 9 am and on Sunday the first event is at 10 am,full timetable on Athletics Ireland Website

Schools International X Country

On Saturday next the SIAB Schools International X Country is in Port Talbot Wales it gets under way at 12 noon

Joe Gough at World's Masters.

By the time you read these notes Joe Gough willhave been in action in Daegu South Korea in the semi final of the 800 metres over 60 early this morning at the World Masters Indoor Championships and if qualifying will be in the final on Wednesday again very early in the morning. Joe is the reigning champion. Daegu is nine hours ahead of us here in Ireland.

Déise College Road Race

On Sunday last in the Dungarvan area the final race in the Michael Roche Carpets Series the Déise Colleges 35 th Annual 10 km attracted an entry of 125 and it was won by David Mansfield Clonliffe Harriers in a time of 31 minutes 52 seconds, Damien Murphy West Waterford was second in 32.51 and Noel Murphy Waterford was third in 33.41. First lady home was Sally Forristal St Joseph's in 37.59. Kate Veale West Waterford was second in 41.21 and Sinead Brannigan Waterford was third in 42.32 The overall series winners were Kevin Kenneally and Kate Veale both West Waterford.

Cara wins in Templemore

On Saturday last at a Throws meeting in Templemore the current National hammer champion Cara Kennedy Ferrybank won the Hammer event with a throw of 58.07 metres.

Munster fixture for RSC

On Saturday April 22 nd the Munster junior and under 23 Track and Field Championships are at the RSC in Waterford and also the juvenile and Youths Combined events.This is a major fixture here on our doorstep and all eligible athletes from Waterford clubs are urged to compete.
