2018 Season Ticket details announced

With Premier Division football returning to Waterford next season for the first time in ten years, Waterford FC is delighted to announce the range of ticketing packages available to supporters including a special early bird offer in place until the 1st December 2017 at a 10% discount.

With an increase in the number of SSE Airtricity League games to be hosted at the RSC in 2018 and with the likes of Cork City, Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers coming to town, the demand for match tickets is expected to be high; so the purchase of a Season Ticket is the best way to ensure that you can follow the Blues at home, as they embark on a new and exciting campaign in the top division of Irish football.

Season Ticket prices in 2018 will range from just €75.00 up to €335.00 for individuals who wish to reserve their own personal seat and gain free admission to all underage games. A series of family ticket packages will also be available for the first time, while students and senior citizens can avail of reduced packages.

Speaking at the launch of the new Season Ticket packages in the Woodlands Hotel, Waterford FC Director of Football Pat Fenlon commented:

"2018 will be an exciting time for Blues' supporters and we believe our new ticketing structure and prices will be competitive and appealing to fans young and old.

"We finished the 2017 First Division season with the 7th highest average attendance in the country despite the fact that we had little or no away support in the RSC for our games. That will change in 2018 as visiting fan numbers increase, so we urge supporters to purchase their Season Tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

"The fans were fantastic this year and it was particularly special to see the number of new, young supporters attending and enjoying their evenings out at the RSC. With the various family packages that the club is introducing, we hope to see those faces in the stands again in 2018."

A standard Adult Season Ticket in 2018 will cost €210.00 and a standard Child Season Ticket will cost €75.00 each. With an early bird offer in place until the 1st December 2017, adults can acquire their tickets for just €189.00 and a reduced for children will cost only €67.50.

Striker Walsh Re-signs for 2018

Dean Walsh becomes the ninth player to be recruited by Waterford FC ahead of the 2018 SSE Airtricity League Premier Division campaign, after the 20 year old put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him make the step up to the top flight for the first time.

Walsh, who netted four times last season, joined the club back in 2015 at Under 19 level before stepping up to League of Ireland in July 2016, making some fantastic contributions from the bench last year in particular.

Speaking on his decision to sign for the season ahead, Walsh said:

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me and I'm delighted that the club has faith in me to be part of its plans going forward. I'm very happy to commit for 2018 which promises to be a very exciting period for the club."

The player enjoyed last season despite being largely restricted to cameo roles. The striker reflected:

"It was great to be able to chip in with four goals last season. The support was amazing and being from Waterford, it was brilliant to see the fans really get behind us. To win promotion to the Premier Division was great for everyone but we need to move on now and build on what we've started.

"I'm under no illusion that I'll have to work harder but I'm grateful to get the chance. I have always supported the club and to get the chance to represent it in the top division now is something that really excites me."

Commenting on his signing, Waterford FC First Team Coach Alan Reynolds said:

"Dean showed a knack for scoring goals in the First Division when called upon and is fully deserving of an opportunity to develop further with the club going forward.

"I'm really pleased that he has decided to stay with us for 2018 season. Dean is another promising local lad who is willing to learn and we see a role for him in the squad as we prepare for the Premier Division."

Rush to CriticismThere are not many people who at this stage have not heard about the Cash family and what happened to them. The mother and six of her children had to seek accommodation in the Tallaght Garda Station last week as they had absolutely nowhere to turn to. It led to an outcry as pictures of the young children sleeping on seats were posted to social media by the mother.Understandably there were a lot of people who were saddened to see that in this day and age that a family had to resor …
