Munster players visit!

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of having Keith Earls, Ivan Dineen, Dave O'Callaghan and James Cronin come down and train with the club. They met with all our squads starting with our minis and working their way up to our men's team who they took a training session with. It was a great experience for all in the club particularly our youths who were delighted to meet their heroes. Before they took the training session with our seniors and U-18s the lads came in and had a chat about personal responsibility, nutrition, preparation and attitude towards training which the entire squad found beneficial. The training session itself was a success with some great advice and tips given by the guys. We would like to thank Munster Rugby and the players themselves for coming to our club where

Another Thurles disappointment

Following on from their thrilling Munster Minor Final draw in the Gaelic Grounds the previous week, it was episode two for both Waterford and Limerick, at famed Semple Stadium in Thurles on Tuesday evening. With the senior title already wrapped up by the Shannonsiders there was a bigger than expected crowd which resulted in the game being delayed for ten minutes and in truth even at that, patrons were crossing the pitch as players were warming up and even during the Amhran na bhFiann. From a safety point of view it could have been a lot more serious. A number of items contributed to the problem. The continuing late arrival of patrons. A distinct lack of stewards at the venue. A Plan B where patrons if they had to cross could gain access to the other side of

Blues drop two points

Waterford United 1 - 1 ATHLONE TOWN

Athlone Town moved to the top of the First Division table after a 1-1 draw with Waterford United at the RSC on Friday night. The result probably was not good enough to keep the Blues in the shake up for automatic promotion and once again the play-off's beckon, if the club is still in existence. The local club were threatened by a winding-up order in the High Court on Monday of this week and during the course of the match most of the talk between supporters was about Monday and not about was unfolding on the field of play. It was a strange night indeed at the local venue.

Philly Gorman had Athlone's first chance of the match but after making space on the edge of the area he couldn't get his

Rush to CriticismThere are not many people who at this stage have not heard about the Cash family and what happened to them. The mother and six of her children had to seek accommodation in the Tallaght Garda Station last week as they had absolutely nowhere to turn to. It led to an outcry as pictures of the young children sleeping on seats were posted to social media by the mother.Understandably there were a lot of people who were saddened to see that in this day and age that a family had to resor …
