Morning Prayer Group, Prayer and Praise
A Morning Prayer Group - Prayer and Praise- takes place every Thursday in the Parish Centre attached to St. Joseph’s and St. Benildus Church, shortly after the 10.30 a.m. mass. The session lasts approximately one hour. All are welcome.

Déise Active Retirement Association
Our next meeting will be on the 9th March at 11a.m. in the Woodlands Hotel. Those travelling to Killarney on 3rd April need to bring a deposit of €50 in an envelope with your name on. Please don't forget the Bring and Buy- we can't take paperbacks or magazines, but items such as jewellery, wine, etc., will be very welcome, and the big sellers, of course, are home-made cakes. Meantime, we have afternoon tea on Thursday, 2nd March, in the Athenaeum Hotel at 2.30; cost is €12.50, and again, to be brought in an envelope with your name on. Tramore Hospice Coffee Morning
The next coffee morning in aid of The Tramore Hospice Support Group will be in Tramore Golf Club at 11.00am on Thursday 9th March.
This is a great location and we have had some wonderful Coffee Mornings there and the hospitality we have received over the years is very much appreciated.
We look forward to a great turnout as in past years and of course we will have a raffle for some unusual and exciting prizes.
Tramore I.C.A. Notes
At our last meeting we were delighted with the talk and skeletal demonstration by Anthony Phelan of ‘Advanced Physio’ we are now more aware of the causes of back pain. Thank you so very much for your time!
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 8 March at 8pm in Tramore House. We thought it would be great to celebrate St Patricks day by having a fun evening, so if you have any funny stories you would like to share now is the time! We are also hoping for some musical entertainment throughout as well. It’s also your time to elect a new President and committee. So do try and join us, don’t forget there’s always tea and scones for supper!
Along with Waterford Sports Partnership our fitness regime continues. This Tuesday 7 March there is a walk along the Strand in Tramore, starting at Dooley’s, on the prom at 10.30. There will also be cycling (even for beginners) starting at 10.30 on the following Friday mornings: 10, 24 and 31 March from TBay, at the end of the prom Tramore. We still attend Aerobics at Splashworld, yoga on Wednesday mornings with Richard at 10-11, and bowling at Williamstown on Thursday evenings 7-8. Our various craft classes are also ongoing. So do join us to learn or share new skills, and have some fun as well!
For anyone looking to make new friends why not come along to our meetings? You will receive a warm and friendly welcome, so join us for a cup of tea and a chat, there are outings to places of interest, shopping at the outlet villages, also a variety of crafts, fun activities, and social evenings. We really look forward to seeing you.
Cheshire Annual Fundraising Table Quiz 2017
Waterford Cheshire will be holding its Annual Fundraising Table Quiz in its premises on John's Hill, Waterford on Tuesday, 28th March commencing at 8pm sharp. There will be refreshments and a superb selection of homemade cakes available. A table of four costs €20 (teams can register on the night) and those who are unfortunate enough to be unable to come on the night are invited to support the event by dropping off a spot prize instead for our raffle, during office hours. It's a really enjoyable night of fun and laughter and we hope to see you there. We would especially like to see teams from years gone by as well as new teams to join us on the night. Free Camino de Santiago Talk
Camino de Santiago: the History, the culture, the routes..... FREE talk. Join us for a special Camino de Santiago talk at 3:00pm on 10th March at Ferrybank Library. Roland Monsegu will speak about the most popular Camino routes, the history of the famous trail and the culture along the way. In this talk we will outline details of the Camino Frances, the Camino Portugues and the Finisterre Way. In addition, the talk will summarise some key travel tips and useful packing advice. There will be a questions and answer time after the talk. This is a FREE talk but spaces are limited so please book in advance by contacting the library on 051 897200.

Mass for deceased members of Southend Utd
On the 19th of March at 10.15am a Mass for deceased members of Southend United will take place in the Fransiscan Church (Friary). This is to coincide with the 60th Anniversary of the foundation of the club, which was formed on the 22nd March in South Parade, Waterford. A function wiill be organised in October to commemorate the occasion.
Support Person needed
Sage – Support and Advocacy Service are now recruiting for volunteers in a “Support Person” role. The role of a Support Person can include; Helping people transition to a Nursing Home from a Hospital setting; Linking people with the services that they need; Befriending, PHN, Social Worker etc.; Raise awareness of Sage and the service we provide in local communities; Helping to build circles of support around the person who may need support
Sage will be holding a series of coffee meetings throughout 2017 regionally to introduce Sage and the Services we provide, and to explain more about the Support Person volunteer role. The next coffee meeting will be held in The Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre, Mount Sion, Barrack Street, Waterford on the 30th March from 5.30pm.
