Waterford Intellectual Disability Association AGM
The Waterford Intellectual Disability Association will hold its Annual General Meeting in the main building of the Edmund Rice Centre, Barrack St, Waterford on Tuesday February 28th at 7.30pm.
WIDA is funded by the HSE and provides residential services for adults with an intellectual disability, respite services for adults and children, adult day centres at Spring Garden in Cherrymount and a training programme for adults at our new centre in Killure Manor, St Johns Park. We also provide a community inclusion service from the Edmund Rice Centre as well as supporting adults working in the community.
The adults and children that avail of our services are drawn from the city and county as well as south Kilkenny and south Tipperary. Despite the extremely difficult economic situation we have striven to maintain a high level of quality in all our services. The next few years will be very important for the future of intellectual disability services and we need to ensure we continue to enhance our existing services and develop new ones in order to provide opportunities and quality support for people with an intellectual disability while continuing to promote greater inclusion in our community.
We would encourage families who avail of our services as well as those who feel they can be of help to our organisation to attend. Please note there are parking facilities at the Edmund Rice Centre with access from the Convent Hill entrance only.
