The focus of the course is positive and aims to build on your strengths as a parent and what you are already doing right.

The course will take place on Wednesdays from 10.00am – 12.30pm from 8th February to 5th April 2017 in St Brigid’s Family & Community Centre, 37 Lower Yellow Road, Waterford. Volunteers needed in Waterford for Lollipop Day

The Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) needs your help this March. For the 16th annual Lollipop Day, the OCF is calling for volunteers in Waterford on Friday, 3rd and Saturday 4th of March to help raise vital funds for oesophageal cancer.

Lollipop Day involves thousands of people selling lollipops (€2) nationwide, in an effort to raise vital funds for oesophageal cancer. Without the generosity and support from volunteers, the OCF would not be able to provide the vital role it does in terms of awareness, research and better outcomes for patients and their families with this cancer in Ireland. If you have a few hours to spare on Friday, 3rd and Saturday 4th of March, pop down on your own or with friends, have some fun and help the OCF.

For more information; to volunteer, to make a donation, go to http://www.lollipopday.ie or to volunteer in Waterford contact Michael on 087 305 1264.

Waterford Philosophica Society presents a Stand Alone Lecture: The Life and Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge at 7:30pm on Monday 6th February, at Waterford Cheshire, John’s Hill.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834) wrote some of the most memorable poems in the English language, yet his development as a writer was intimately bound up with the vast range of his artistic and intellectual interests. While this lecture will focus on the numerous links between Coleridge’s life and his critical and creative writings, it will also examine his place within the history of Western ideas by showing how his reading of philosophers such as Plotinus, Locke, Berkeley, and Kant shaped his poetic aims.

No prior knowledge of philosophy is required. For further information, please visit our Facebook page (Philosophia Waterford) or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
