Whether or not you like a punt on the horses a day at the Tramore races is a wonderful sporting experience and is a great day out.

The Patrick Lafcadio Hearn Park is the latest attraction and is worth a visit to Tramore to view the Park. Lafcadio Hearn spent many of his childhood summers in Tramore and Her Imperial Princess Takamodo paid a visit to the Park and planted a tree to his memory. He is regarded as a national treasure in Japan and his writings still inspire millions of Japanese with his prose. The wonderful layout is a credit to all concerned impresses visitors and locals alike.

Another favourite part of Tramore is the Guillamenes which attracts thousands of swimmers and families for a deep sea swimming experience and a marvellous venue for a picnic. On Saturday last there was a huge influx of foreign tourists who relished the story of the Metalman which is clearly visible, particularly the old legend that if a girl hops three times around the base of the metalman she will be married within the year.

The focal point of Tramore is of course the Promenade, the leisure centres and the Tramore Amusement Park which delights the many thousands of visitors, particularly children who enjoy in the many attractions on offer. Splashworld is another huge favourite all the year round. This marvellous amenity attracts families by the scores where even the youngest of children can enjoy themselves in safety and harmony.
