Wednesday 15th November - Tuesday 21st November

Aries 21st March-21st April

The new moon in Scorpio on the 18th could set you off on a journey of exploration and self-discovery. A lot of pieces from your past might seem to jigsaw themselves together giving you a totally different perspective on where and how far you've come and so put a whole new spin on where you're going. An opportunity to speak publicly on something you're both passionate and knowledgeable about may present itself.

Taurus 22nd April-21st May

If there's an area of your life, or a particular relationship or set-up that you wish you could reset, the Scorpio new moon on the 18th just might be your opportunity. Of course, no one can go back in time but somehow it seems, if all parties are agreeable, you might just be able to go back to square one and have a do-over, to see if you can get it right this time around. It will take a lot of trust, and a lot of forgiveness, but it's possible.

Gemini 22nd May-21st June

An area of uncertainty around your career could come into laser-focus now Gemini. If you've been thinking of switching lanes, or changing gears (going from full-time to part-time/job-sharing etc.), something which helps you to come to a firm decision will appear. If you've been out of work and out of ideas as to where to start looking, opportunities you never would have considered before start to look more interesting. No more procrastinating.

Cancer 22nd June-22nd July

Mars and Pluto in your family and relationship sectors could see sparks fly between a significant other or close personal friend and a family member/members, and you could feel like you're caught between a rock and a hard place. You'll be able to see both sides of the argument but good luck convincing either side to try to do the same. You may not be able to stay out of it, but at least try not to pour any fuel on the fire.

Leo 23rd July-23rd August

Power struggles in the workplace are likely now Leo. It could be that someone is exerting a bit too much pressure on staff in the hopes of appearing more in control of a situation. Cross words are likely as the pressure mounts. As much as you can, stay tight-lipped, especially with those in less senior positions, as there's a chance you'll be surprised at your own anger, and once said, words cannot be unsaid again.

Virgo 24th August-23rd September

You could be tempted to do something outrageous (for you) this week Virgo. Normally known for your cautious nature and love of planning things meticulously, you might consider throwing caution to the wind and betting the house (metaphorically speaking), on a scheme or idea that you think could really work. Your more reserved nature will surely win through, won't it? After all, you're very attached to chez Virgo!

Libra 24th September-23rd October

With the prospect of all the extra accoutrements that come with the festive season arriving, bag-by-bag, into your home, you may wonder if it's time for a bigger premises! Of course, the easier option is to clear the way for both the decorations that will inevitably arrive down from their lofty attic perch, and the many presents and Christmas-themed paraphernalia - have a massive declutter session before things really hit their stride!

Scorpio 24th October-22nd November

What do you really want Scorpio? Don't trot off the first answer that comes to mind like "to win the lotto" or "world peace" (you might very well want these things but chances are they are not your heart's desire). So what is it? The Scorpio new moon on the 18th is urging you to figure this out and put it to the forefront of your life. Watch out for those passive-aggressive types, who send silent daggers your way, don't rise to their bait.

Sagittarius 23rd November-21st December

New moons are often about beginnings, but occasionally beginning one thing means ending another. Where in your life do you need to let something go? If you've been the main source of support for someone for quite a while, you may be feeling the strain somewhat. It's ok to admit this and to ask for help yourself. Independently-minded as you are, it's a hard ask but go ahead and lean on someone yourself for a change.

Capricorn 22nd December-20th January

Something that greatly improves your home-life transpires soon, it could be a change of address or a massive overhaul on your existing abode. It could even be the addition of a new presence in your home, a relative come to stay or a pet that decides that you're his/her human. Watch out for overly-strong male types who press your buttons this week, do not, under any circumstances, let them see they're getting under your skin.

Aquarius 21st January-19th February

Get ready to show why you're considered the brains of the operation Aquarius. Life is about to throw some curveballs your way and it's going to require a lot of thinking on your feet. Don't allow yourself to get overwhelmed, you can handle it all. As soon as you focus on each item, one at a time, your creativity and innovativity will come up with solutions for each and every one and you'll literally be hitting them out of the park.

Pisces 20th February-20th March

Beware the green-eyed monster Pisces, especially if it's resident in you. Are you seething over someone else's good fortune? Or is there someone in your sphere who would gladly swap places with you? Comparing one life to another is a dangerous game to play, having never walked in someone else's shoes, you can't ever really understand what a day in their life is actually like. Chances are, if you could, you'd quickly return to your own!

Time for a breakJust as the height of Summer begins it seems that it is also the time when our politicians begin their yearly departure from Dail Eireann. While not many professions get as much holiday time as politicians do you have to ask the question whether they merit such long breaks? There are many who would immediately answer that they don't really deserve such long holidays, that they barely seem to spend any time in the Dail at all and after all they are well remunerated for the long hours …
