(followed by book-signing)At GROW HQ Saturday 18th November, 5-6pm.

To coincide with the release of a new edition of her classic book The Salad Garden, we are honoured to welcome the great Joy Larkcom to GROW HQ this Saturday November 18th.

Joy will be in conversation with GIY founder Michael Kelly for this very special free event. They will explore her life's work, particularly her infamous Grand Vegetable Tours of Europe and Asia in the late 70's and 80's; her contribution to veg growing and her advice for people starting out. Following the Q&A, Joy will sign copies of her books (new or old!).

JOY LARKCOM is one of the world's most respected veg growers and gardening writers, and is credited with introducing the western world to the joys of growing oriental vegetables, and cut & come again salad growing. Joy's books include the food-growers' bible 'Grow your own vegetables', The Organic Salad Garden, Creative Vegetable Gardening, Oriental Vegetables, and Just Vegetating. She has contributed to many magazines and newspapers, radio and TV programmes and has lectured all over the world. Her accolades include the Garden Writer of the Year award (three times); Lifetime Achievement Award from the Garden Writers' Guild in 2003, and the Veitch Memorial Medal for horticulture, the RHS's highest honour, in 1993.

This event is free of charge, but tickets must be booked online http://www.growhq.org or in HQ.
