Subterranean Sounds is delighted to announce that indie-folk darling, the effortlessly cool Rozi Plain will be making her Waterford debut with a full band gig in Phil Grimes Pub.

A long-term collaborator with Kate Stables of This Is The Kit, Rozi made her first two albums in Bristol where she was part of the burgeoning alt-folk scene. 2008 Inside Over Here and 2012’s Joined Sometimes Unjoined are both works of deliciously sad and beautiful pop full of heart-wrenching harmonies dotted with unexpected instrumental flourishes.

Her most recent album, Friend, featuring contributions from Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor among others, is Rozi’s most accomplished album to date. Rozi has taken her joyous live show around the globe performing with alt-folk luminaries from Devendra Banhart to James Yorkston and has performed at SXSW, Iceland Airwaves, Glastonbury, End of the Road, Latitude, Green Man.

This is her first appearance in Waterford but she will return as bassist in This Is The Kit to play ATN Festival in August. Opening the show is Justin Cullen of Frankenstein Bolts, whose latest album of glittering tunes has been garnering top class reviews across the music press.
