The Kazbar shortlisted for prestigious IMRO Live Music Venue of The Year Award 2017

The Kazbar, 57 John Street, Waterford has been shortlisted for an IMRO Munster Live Music Venue of The Year Award 2017 and it’s in good company with two other bars from Cork (Connolly’s of Leap & Coughlan’s) , one from Kerry (Mike The Pies) and one from Clare (Kenny’s Bar) being also nominated in the same Munster category. The Kazbar first heard of their nomination when the shortlist was announced on Monday the 22nd of January via the IMRO head quarter building by Victor Finn who is the IMRO Chef executive. The Kazbar said that they are delighted and highly value this prestigious nomination.

The Annual Awards celebrate the dedication and passion of those who work in Ireland’s live music venues providing the public with an exceptional live music experience on a weekly basis. More than 11,500 IMRO members considered hundreds of venues across the country for the short list.

Venues were judged on their commitment to providing the core elements that make a great live music venue, atmosphere and staging, diversity of programming & importantly the staff and management of each venue.

Of the awards Victor Finn, IMRO Chief Executive said "over the years the awards have become a much sought after industry accolade they clearly highlight the pivotal contribution that venues and festivals make to local economies and the significant role they play in providing a public platform for songwriters and performers".

The Kazbar will be attending the finals which take place in the IMRO HQ’s in Dublin on the 20th of February with performances from leading emerging acts Le Boom and Chasing Abbey.
