Our spring season opens with The Florida Project (15A), set on a stretch of highway just outside the imagined utopia of Disney World, it follows six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince in a stunning debut) and her rebellious mother Halley (Bria Vinaite) over the course of a single summer. The two live week to week at 'The Magic Castle', a budget motel managed by Bobby (Willem Dafoe), whose stern exterior hides a deep reservoir of kindness and compassion.

Warm, winning, and gloriously alive, Sean Baker’s The Florida Project is a deeply moving and unforgettably poignant look at childhood and proves to be thoroughly absorbing even as it raises sobering questions about modern America.

    HealthCatastropheMary Harney, when she was Minister for Health, many years ago, declared that 300 people on trolleys in hospital corridors was a 'health crisis'. Now here we are in 2018 and we have nearly twice that number of people on trolleys within a hospital system that barely seems able to cope.
