The Florida Project (15A)

Update your diary, change the settings on your phone, the film night in Garter Lane Arts Centre is moving to Tuesdays from Jan 16th with films screening at 7.30pm.

Our spring season opens with The Florida Project (15A), set on a stretch of highway just outside the imagined utopia of Disney World, it follows six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince in a stunning debut) and her rebellious mother Halley (Bria Vinaite) over the course of a single summer. The two live week to week at 'The Magic Castle', a budget motel managed by Bobby (Willem Dafoe), whose stern exterior hides a deep reservoir of kindness and compassion.

Warm, winning, and gloriously alive, Sean Baker’s The Florida Project is a deeply moving and unforgettably poignant look at childhood and proves to be thoroughly absorbing even as it raises sobering questions about modern America.

Tickets costing €9 & €6 concession can be booked on 051-855038 & garterlane.ie
