The 11th Waterford Film Festival closed on Sunday with a fantastic audience.

We would like to thank our core funders Waterford City & County Council for their continued support for over ten years!

Garter Lane hosted the event and we would like to thank Artistic Director Caroline Senior and all of the amazing team at Garter Lane for their support and hard work over the course of the weekend.

Filmmakers, writers and guests traveled across the country, Northern Ireland , UK and Holland to attend the event!

Congratulations to all the filmmakers and writers involved in the festival.

Best short film went to Kubrick By Candlelight by Vinnie Jassal and David O'Reilly.

Runners up for Best Short Film went to the short documentary Throwline by Mia Mullarkey and a Special Mention award went to Saving Santa by Keith O'Grady.

Best Short Screenplay went to Forget Me Not by Roisin Kearney, pictured, and runners up to the screenplay competition went to Saint Michael by Ryan Hayes. It was a fantastic weekend and we would like to again thank all our sponsors, the filmmakers, writers who entered and everyone who came who helped make this festival a great success!

    HealthCatastropheMary Harney, when she was Minister for Health, many years ago, declared that 300 people on trolleys in hospital corridors was a 'health crisis'. Now here we are in 2018 and we have nearly twice that number of people on trolleys within a hospital system that barely seems able to cope.
