After the Storm

One of the highlights of the Japanese film Festival, After the Storm, is another beautifully written and directed family drama from Hirokazu Kore-eda. Coasting on past glories as a prize winning author, separated dad, Ryota fritters away the money he makes as a private detective on gambling and barely meets his maintenance payments. After the death of his father, Ryota struggles to regain control of his life and to find a place in the life of his son until a stormy summer night offers them a chance to truly bond again.

After the Storm screens on Sunday, Nov 19th at 7.30pm. Booking 051-855038 & garterlane.ie.
