With just over 2 weeks to go til Daytripper 2017, we are concentrating this week on the Friday night line-up that we can safely predict will see The Gasworks at The Waterside host the biggest outdoor party that Waterford has ever seen. Tickets are flying out, get yours now at or You Choose in Michael Street.

CLEAN BANDIT are a global pop phenomenon. It was their second single ‘Rather Be’ in early 2014 which first made the whole world sit up and take notice. In more recent times, their massive chart smash ‘Rockabye’ spent 9 weeks at Number 1 in the UK (including the coveted Christmas Number 1 position) and they followed this up in 2017 with another worldwide smash, ‘Symphony’. As a live force, Clean Bandit have been wowing festival audiences this summer with high profile slots at

Glastonbury, Coachella, Benicassim and Ibiza Rocks.

We are delighted that they will be headlining Daytripper on Friday, 25 August as an Irish exclusive, their first Irish show since their ‘Special Guest’ slot with Avicii at a sold out 40,000 capacity Marlay Park in Dublin in 2015.

JENNY GREENE is one of Ireland’s best loved and most successful DJs and will play a headline set of classic dance music tracks (old & new) to get everyone in the mood for closing act Clean Bandit at Daytripper 2017. Jenny presents a highly rated morning show with co-host Nicky Byrne on 2FM, as well as Ireland’s longest running and most listened to weekend dance music show, The Electric Disco. In September 2016 Jenny teamed up with The RTE Concert Orchestra for the most talked about gig at Electric Picnic and has followed this with sold out shows at Dublin's 3 Arena, The Marquee in Cork and Galway Arts Festival.

SMASH HITS The people of Waterford LOVE Smash Hits. Their winning formula is very simple; fully decked out in 90s gear they perform a fun filled and high energy set of 90s dance, pop and R’n’B chart classics. Having smashed it at previous Daytrippers on the second stage, for 2017 Smash Hits will really get the PARTY started when they play before Jenny Greene and Clean Bandit on the BIG stage. Here Come The Hotsteppers !

JOHN GIBBONS hit the big time with his 2016 single "Would I Lie to You" which has had over 25 million streams to date and Top 40 chart positions in the UK and Ireland. John’s latest smash hit single, ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) has become the Summer Anthem of 2017 and resulted in high profile sets for John, supporting the likes of Tiesto, Justin Bieber, Sigala, Disciples, Robin Schulz and more. This looks set to be the year when John Gibbons joins the global music A-List.

CHASING ABBEY Freshly formed in July of 2016, young Tullamore group Chasing Abbey bring a unique pop, dance and hip-hop style to the forefront of the current Irish music scene. Their debut single ‘That Good Thing’ is already one of the hottest radio tracks of the year and has led to the lads getting booked for all this summer’s music festivals and their own headline show at Dublin’s Academy in September.

MARSHAL is a young DJ/Producer from the South East who has been getting plenty of profile recently from his weekly Saturday night residency ‘Marshal & Friends’ at Waterford club Project. In 2013 at just 18 years of age he battled it out with some of the country's best DJ's in the Movida Corona DJ Finals at the Wright Venue in Dublin.
