Join us this Saturday 27th of July as we welcome Waterford's hottest talent for the Sunday Sessions at Shortt's Live Music Venue.

The unusual suspects are an energetic, fun band that is no strangers to the stage, both big and small. The boys have been working hard of late both on the push bikes and in the swimming pool, it is well known they look as good as they sound!!

The suspects are quickly becoming known as one of Irelands hardest working bands. With a fusion of music genres and the addition of screaming brass they cater for all ears of all ages and leave audiences pleading for more.

On weekday evenings, the Coastguard Centre will hold its usual classes in Tai Chi (Tuesday at 7pm), Unislim (Wednesday at 6.30pm) and Yoga (Thursday at 7.30pm). The centre also hosts a weekly meditation group every Saturday morning at 9am. The weekly Life Drawing classes have now finished for the summer but will be starting again in a few months.

The centre sees the opening of three exciting exhibitions this week. In the downstairs gallery, talented and eclectic local artist John Cullinan will begin displaying his work on Thursday, while the upstairs gallery sees the opening of an exhibition by photographer Sinead Boyle on Friday. A new exhibition will also open in the centre's lobby featuring work by Norma Boyle this Thursday.

Terri Hooley is a music loving rebel in 1970s Belfast when the bloody conflict known as the Troubles shuts down his city. As all his friends take sides and some even take up arms, Terri opens a record shop on the most bombed half-mile in Europe and calls it Good Vibrations. The inaugural Visual Artists Ireland (VAI) Pop-Up 'Common Room' Café takes place on Saturday 27th July at Central Library, Lady Lane, Waterford, between 2 to 5pm. It is being hosted by Christine O'Brien Shanahan in conjunction with VAI and Avenue Festival.

Guest speaker Mr Noel Kelly, Director of VAI, will lead a facilitated discussion around 'the morphology of artist led structures'. Visual artists based in the South East are invited to get together for coffee. The event, which is open to non VAI members, is particularly relevant to artist collectives.

VAI developed 'The Common Room Social Network' web site for the Visual Arts to assist artists, art professionals and public in meeting people and staying connected. 'The Common Room' seeks to promote mutual understanding among members by highlighting practices, commonalities, and experiences through forums, blogs, photos, and videos.
