The Friday Night live acts in Shortts Live Music Venue have been playing to large numbers over the last few months, Friday 19th July will be no different as local Oasis tribute return to their home town to once more wow their audience.

Mad Ferrit are the ultimate Oasis tribute band consisting of a group of Musicians from Ireland. The aim of the band is to put together a Tribute show that mimics the raw power and swagger of an Oasis live show in their heyday. Offering great family value, The Children’s Summer film Club will run during July and August and will screen family fun films.

The programme starts with Epic which is a animated story about a teenager who finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. Jordan’s Rigout for Music at the Museum

Music at the Museum is delighted to present Jordan’s Rigout to kick-off the second series of Sunday Lunchtime Concerts at the Medieval Museum on 14th July. This series, running from July to November, will continue to support local performers in addition to bringing acts from further afield. The Bishop’s Palace has come on board with the Medieval Museum to offer guided tours at the reduced price of €2 with concert ticket. Quentin Tarantino comes to Waterford Beretta Productions is proud to present an all male cast in this powerhouse of a movie, Reservoir Dogs. This movie was a huge hit and we have sunk our teeth into this wonderful script. It was been renamed Dog's but in our hands Tarantino's classic will shine and is a must see for any movie fans.

Beretta Productions recently got the cast together for a read through of the script and there was a tingle in the air as we heard this wonderful script been read by our amazing cast for the first time. We plan to start rehearsals in the coming weeks as the majority of our cast are currently performing in Jim Nolan's hit play On The Razzle.

Racecourse Tramore in association with WLR

Saturday 13th July will see the inaugural Fleadh Beag Festival take place at the Waterford and Tramore Racecourse. The festival will host 8 top class acts from all corners of the country along with a family fun day for kids of all ages.

With Inspiration coming from the Fleadh Mór ‘93, the festival organisers aim to recreate the festival atmosphere and bring good music to the people. All proceeds from festival will go equally to the Ryan and Ethan Appeal, The Bolger Brothers Tragedy Fund and The Pat Flavin to Walk again Fund, the mission of the festival is to not only to raise much needed funds and awareness for these causes but also to offer a day of family fun and community spirit.

Waterford Youth Arts are very excited about a new film being made in the local area which will capture some of the local people's stories and the history of the area. The film is being made through the help of Waterford City Council and local businesses and sees Waterford filmmaker Mark Power who is a graduate from St. Johns film School in Cork and is presently doing a Documentary Course in Galway working over the summer months to make the film happen.

Mark has started by approaching individuals on the street and now he is putting the word out on Facebook and in local papers and on radio asking for possible interviews. Masons proudly presents legendary Blues/soul singer Rob strong on Friday 19th July.Rob intially came to prominence with the outfit 'The Plattermen' in the early 70's their powerhouse interpretations of the likes of 'Blood Sweat & Tears' and James Brown material as well as their own tunes swiftly gained the band a huge following.

With the disbandment of 'The Plattermen' in 1974 Rob eager to broaden his horizons moved to the states where he played the club circuit both in Kansas city and Las Vegas for several years returning to Ireland in 1976 Rob decided to embark on a solo career and formed' The Rob Strong Band' despite an absence from the live music circuit in Ireland the band quickly developed a sizeable following with Rob's gravely voice and incredible range often compared to the likes of Joe cocker and Ray Charles.
