Continuing with Oskars' monthly tribute acts, Saturday, August 3 sees the turn of James Bermingham performing the songs of international superstar, George Michael. The show consists of two hours of George Michael's finest hits such as Faith, Fast Love, Outside and Amazing.

James looks and sounds like the real thing and provides an amazing musical tribute experience to one of the finest singer song-writers of the last three decades.

James hopes to keep the musical brilliance of George Michael alive in his tribute performances to one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you can make it out for one of his great Tribute shows. But hey, make your own decision.

Joe Harney and Peter Vogelaar performing in the Waterford Regional Hospital

The Waterford Healing Arts Trust is delighted to announce that Joe Harney and Peter Vogelaar will be performing in the Waterford Regional Hospital (WRH) on Tuesday, July 30th at 1:30 pm as part of its Healing Sounds programme.

Joe and Peter are both well established musicians in Waterford, who started playing together two years ago.

Joe Harney, who currently performs under the name Deaf Joe, released his first album "Burrowings" in 2012. Joe started his musical career as the front man for local Waterford rock band the Deaf Animal Orchestra and then played with Waterford-born folk singer songwriter Katie Kim before going solo.

Peter Vogelaar has been heavily involved in the Jazz scene in Ireland for a number of years and plays regularly as a session musician throughout Europe.

On weekday evenings, the Coastguard Centre will hold its usual classes in Tai Chi (Tuesday at 7pm), Unislim (Wednesday at 6.30pm) and Yoga (Thursday at 7.30pm). The centre also hosts a weekly meditation group every Saturday morning at 9am. The weekly Life Drawing classes have now finished for the summer but will be starting again in a few months.

The centre sees the opening of three exciting exhibitions this week. In the downstairs gallery, talented and eclectic local artist John Cullinan will begin displaying his work on Thursday, while the upstairs gallery sees the opening of an exhibition by photographer Sinead Boyle on Friday. A new exhibition will also open in the centre's lobby featuring work by Norma Boyle this Thursday.

    Even though the weather Gods didn’t exactly play ball over the weekend it doesn’t take away from the fact that this years Waterford Harvest Festival was yet again another wonderful success.
