Mack Fleetwood, Europe’s premier tribute to the super-group Fleetwood Mac, make a return visit to Forum Waterford on Saturday, 27th April, after a fantastic debut show at the same venue last summer. The three-day international 'SkaFest’ is slated to kick off on Friday, March 29th next in the picturesque sunny south-east town Tramore. Two Waterford students are finalists in national writing competition. Kyle Hutchinson, 6th Class, Scoil Lorcáin BNS (St. John's Park, Waterford) and Aisling Finnegan, 6th year, St. Declan's C.C. (Kilmacthomas) are both finalists in the John West Fantasy Writing Competition – which attracted over 11,000 entries this year.

County Waterford provided the first ever winner of the competition in 2011 -Lauren Mulvihill from Dungarvan, who was then a 2nd Year student at Ard Scoil na Deise. That year the competition attracted just under 5,000 entries, last year it was closer to 6,000 and this year – it surpassed 11,000.

Students nationwide were asked to write a short story in the fantasy and science fiction genre with the theme, "Under the Sea." There are three categories – Primary (5/6th class), Junior Secondary (1st – 3rd year) and Senior Secondary (Transition Year/4-6th Year). The three

Katie Buckley, a student at Waterford Institute of Technology has won third place in the All Ireland Scholarship poster design competition. The competition, which was launched last September invited second and third level students to design a poster to promote the All Ireland Scholarships, a scheme sponsored by JP McManus that provides financial assistance for third level students across the country.

Katie, who was in the third level category, fought off stiff competition from over three hundred students from across the 32-counties of Ireland who took part in the competition.

For her prize, Katie received a cheque for €750. First prize of €3,000 and runner up €1,250 were also given to other successful entrants at second and third level.

The play is set in rural Ireland in the mid 1960's and its main character is Madge Mulloy who has spent over 40 years of her life in despair following the disappearance of her husband for no apparent reason.

Little Red Kettle Theatre Company are delighted to announce that they will be holding auditions for their up and coming annual Summer Play 2013. Following on from the success of their production of Pearl's Colour Dream which starred over 50 local young actors and most recently their critically acclaimed Winter Interactive Tour Programme, Wiggily Tom and the Little Elf that Lost her Story, Little Red Kettle are back once again to give young people between 9 and 13 a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of our biggest productions.
