It is beginning to look increasingly likely that there will be an all-out bus strike across the country as the workers and management of Bus Eireann cannot come to any agreement over the future direction over the company. Talks have just broken down at the Work Place Relations Committee between the two sides and unless there is some sort of last minute breakthrough it seems as if the workers in the company will be out on strike in the very near future. SIPTU has already said that they have ordered their strike posters and banners for the action. No specific date has been given as yet so there will, it seems, be some time for commuters to plan alternate arrangements.
However for those who do not have any alternatives other than public transport the forthcoming strike will be a difficult time indeed.
