You would have to agree with Sinn Fein's analysis of British Prime Minister Theresa May's first visit to Northern Ireland last week as being fairly accurate. It was indeed too little, too late.

This is the first time in two years since the announcement of the British withdrawal from the EU that the Prime Minister has visited the country. And although she seemed to be saying all the right things to all the right people you couldn't help but get the impression that what will happen in the North, and subsequently in the Republic, is not first and foremost in the minds of those in the British Government.

The Conservatives can barely keep a lid on their own party so it seems as if their priorities are closer to home rather than what happens over the Irish Sea. Only time will tell what will happen but you can't but feel that Northern Ireland is not a priority.

    Rush to CriticismThere are not many people who at this stage have not heard about the Cash family and what happened to them. The mother and six of her children had to seek accommodation in the Tallaght Garda Station last week as they had absolutely nowhere to turn to.
