Initially the British Government expelled 23 Russian diplomats giving the Russians the excuse to retaliate and expel 23 British diplomats but now the Russians have upped the ante and said that it will double that number and ask 50 diplomats to leave their country.

In total over 100 Russian diplomats have been asked to leave over a dozen countries due to the poisoning scandal and it seems that things are not going to stop there. Even Ireland, small enough as we are, have asked one Russian diplomat to leave and the same has happened in retaliation. With more and more steps being taken by each side in this case it seems that there is a long way to go until there is some resolution.
