Whether you like it or not now that Halloween is out of the way the only major public holiday that is coming up is Christmas and no matter what shop you walk into between now the start of November and the 25th of December you will be constantly reminded of that. For a lot of people that will be too much but from the point of view of retailers you can understand why they are gearing up for the number one selling period of the year. At a time when we are beginning to come out of the recession retailers are amongst one of many industries that are trying to make up for lost time when sales figures were low and considering that the retail industry is one of the biggest employers in the country it is understandable that they will do everything in their power to get people into their shops and to spend. And anyway Christmas was always commercial even if it is just that bit much more now.

    As dry as the SaharaIt seems that whenever the weather in Ireland goes a little bit extreme, we are somehow incapable of dealing with it. It has already happened so far this year with the snow that totally disrupted the country for about a week and also later on when some areas in the country were flooded due to excess rain.
