It seems that the only time that you hear about charities these days is when there is another crisis or scandal within the whole industry and another group has to come out and try and deal with whatever is happening this week. It the St. John of God's Charity that seems to be in trouble this week and this time it is over pensions. There is some toing and froing over whether the payments they made were right or wrong but the real upshot is that the charity sector in Ireland is taking another battering. Those trying to collect much needed money for this particular group have already said that it is just getting harder and harder to put a case before the public as to why they should donate much needed money. It seems that the public have reached the tipping point when it comes to all of the crisis' and scandals in the sector and is voting with its money and withdrawing so much of its support.
